Hello! I’m making this request to support a friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, in securing stable housing for the year. They just got out of a long-term relationship right before their shared lease was up for renewal. Having lived there for several years now, and due to the last-minute nature of their breakup, my friend has few practical options other than to renew the lease. However, she cannot afford to do so on her current salary without extra help from the community. This would alleviate a large amount of financial hardship, allowing them space to focus on their mental health and career as a PhD student.

We would not be making this ask of the community if we didn’t see it as the most promising and straightforward solution to meeting their needs.

While this request is being made, my friend is also looking into additional sources of funding, as well as affordable housing, should a better opportunity come along. Any funds which exceed their housing support needs will be put towards their medical debt. Thank you so much for reading!
