Help Secure Stable Home After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
From Florida, I am writing to share a heartfelt plea for help on behalf of my daughter and granddaughter who live in the Asheville area. After being displaced and the horrific devastation of Hurricane Helene, they are facing immense challenges, and we are determined to find a way to build a secure and stable home for them.
Currently, my daughter’s tiny house is sitting in a location in Marshall, North Carolina where she was renting land and needs to be moved as soon as possible. Until we can secure land for her tiny house, they are living in temporary housing with no running water, which is not a sustainable solution.
My daughter is seeking to purchase a small piece of land where she can move her tiny house. The land she is working towards has a well, electricity, and septic already which is ideal for her tiny house. This would provide them with a safe environment where my granddaughter can thrive. Stability is crucial for them, especially during this difficult time.
The funds raised will go directly toward long term support: a down payment for the land and the moving costs associated with relocating the tiny house, and other miscellaneous moving and set-up expenses. As well as short term support as the hurricane has impacted her income: immediate bills such as rent in temporary house and food.
This financial support will allow them to finally create a home where they can heal and grow together. Donors are welcome to receive updates on their land buying and homemaking journey, and once the forever home for their tiny house and family is secured, all donors will be able to receive photographs and thank you notes for making this dream a possibility. In addition to finding a permanent home, my daughter is just one year away from completing her Master of Social Work degree in which she will be a LCSW and work as a children's therapist. She has a 4.0 GPA, was nominated and inducted into Phi Alpha Honors Society, and is an AHEC Scholar. In the midst of the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, she is at risk of not being able to complete her degree. Having a stable, safe, and secure place to live will enable her to focus on her studies and better support her daughter now and moving forward.
I am reaching out to you, asking for any support you can offer. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to making this dream a reality. Your generosity will not only help them rebuild their lives but also inspire hope for a brighter future.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Together, we can make a difference in their lives.
