Help Secure Reliable Wheels for a Bright Future: Be my Fab 5
Donation protected
Life often throws us a curveball when we are on the way to something great. Life says, “Do you really want this? How about if I serve you a challenge? Can you think your way around this one?” At those moments, one has to be creative and draw on all of their fortitude and available resources.
My greatest resource is my friends, family, and my community.
I am building several revenue streams from the fragile tributaries of my dreams; not always the most lucrative of life’s paths, I will admit, but I have been working on leveling up in all ways and have been doing pretty well. At the tail end of the pandemic, with the help of a small loan from my parents, I bought a car. It was a beater, but it helped me do things and expand my range of options; it transformed my life. I got a new job, started playing solo gigs all over the city and suburbs, and was able to go see my parents in Glenview at a moment's notice. I spent thousands on repairs just to keep it going. It broke down for good 8 months later. I then bought a second car after tons and tons of research on smart car buying and applied for a small loan at the credit union. The loan fell through, and once again, I got a loan from my parents. Again, I spent thousands on repairs, and again (this time after almost two years), the car broke down.
I have no money at this time…still paying off all of those repairs on my credit card. I can’t buy another car that has 150,000 miles on it—that is closer to my budget of zero, but I need wheels. I haven’t even mentioned this to my kind and generous parents; I want to solve this before I even tell them. I am raising money for a down payment on a car that won’t give me any problems for years and years so I can get my footing. Something I will be able to trade in someday for a new car. Something I won’t have to get an ulcer worrying about every second. Something I can trust to safely get me from here to there.
In order to do that…I need to humble myself and ask for help from my beloved community.
Any donation will help, $5, $10. All the tiniest gifts can add up to changing a life!
