This August, I’ll be moving to Cambridge to begin my Masters in Divinity program at Harvard Divinity School! Although I’m very excited to begin coursework and continue crafting my future career, I’ve encountered multiple barriers to ensuring my success as a student.
As I prepare for this transition, I’ve been confronted with notable financial burdens surrounding my medical care. As many of you may know, I have multiple sclerosis (MS) and other chronic illnesses that require frequent visits to specialists and a variety of tests and treatment methods. In addition to this, I’ve been navigating new medical crises that have left me financially strained. Navigating new health issues, staying on top of treatment for previously diagnosed conditions, and handling the costs of a cross-country move has been incredibly difficult, leaving me in fear of not being able to receive the care I need.
Although I don’t enjoy asking for help, I’m reaching out to you all, my community, for your help to secure the money I’ll need to seek treatment, medication, and specialized care to get me through my first year of school. Funds from this GoFundMe will go directly to the following costs:
Student Health Insurance Premium - $4,308
Calculated Out-of-Pocket Costs Under Student Health Insurance - $1,800
Graduate Student Health Services Fee - $900
Student Dental Insurance Premium - $538
Medical Equipment, Accessibility Aids - $750
Miscellaneous Costs (i.e: supplements, health-monitering equipment) - $604
If you aren’t comfortable donating cash directly, I’ve created a wishlist for the items I’m planning on purchasing to help supplement this care or furnish my home. If you’re interested in purchasing an item off of the wishlist, PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST! I don’t want anyone’s money to be wasted because I accidentally have two of the same thing!

Thanks for your attention and care to read through this! If you are unable to donate or make a purchase, I kindly ask that you forward this fundraiser to people within your network who may be willing to support. Thanks so much again, and I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as I make these next steps!
