Help Secure Katerina's Future

Hello Everyone - my name is Chris Hillier (good friend to Karen) and I have created this fundraiser to try and help with the current and future expenses of her daughter, Katerina. As you may or may not know, Katerina's father, Ted Sipkas, lost his battle with colon cancer on Monday, September 13th, 2021. Not even one week had passed since Kat's first day of junior kindergarten before Ted had to say goodbye to his little girl. As a parent I cannot imagine a more gut wrenching situation than having to say goodbye to your child and know they won't have you there to look out for them, care for them, or prepare them for this world.

 

 

 

 

One of Ted's passions was music and he dedicated much of his life to pursuing that passion. As is often the case with artists, financial security did not always come easy for Ted and therefore he had to work hard to pursue his passion while still providing support to his daughter. What greater a pledge than to share a few spare dollars to help Ted lift up his little girl in ways he was not able to while he was still with us. This money will go toward counselling, school related costs, clothing costs, music lessons, and if generosity allows, post secondary tuition.

 

 

 

Katerina is a bright little girl with an exceptional future in front of her and as the community that supports both her and her mom it is our responsibility to step up and provide the help needed to see her through this very difficult period as well as provide a financial foundation for her future.

 

For those of you who do not know Karen, she is Katerina's mom and someone who would do anything for anyone, and in many cases, has. She does not discriminate in who she helps, shows kindness to or who she blesses with her sense of humour or positive outlook. Many of us consider her a friend, and to everyone else she is Katerina's mom, and she needs our support now more than ever.

 

I'm asking all the parents out there to imagine yourselves in this situation for just a moment before deciding whether or not you can help. Then imagine how far our support can go if we pool our resources together!
