Help Secure Housing During Hardship and Stay Mobile
Donation protected
My name is Dominique, and before anything else, I just want to say thank you for being here. I’m starting this support page to help me get through the next two months because I’ve reached a point where life has quickly humbled me, and I’m now leaning on the people in my life—both those who know me and those who don’t—for support. As someone who’s always tried to stay strong and push through, this time feels different for me.
My job of six years at Verizon closed a while back, and for the first time ever, I tried to lean on some assistance programs with no luck. I loved my last job and it also was my most tenured ever being there 6 years. l I earned so much not just from the job but from customers and co workers I became so close with. There’s only so much my family can do, especially with one brother heading off to college and another recently diagnosed with cancer this past year. I’d say my parents have already done a lot over the past few months, and now I’m reaching out for some help to get through this time.
This fund will help me keep my car so I can continue going to job interviews while actively searching for work, as well as support my side gig with DoorDash. It will also help me get through the last two months in my apartment, as I’m unfortunately on the brink of eviction. In the five years I’ve lived here, this is the first time I’ve ever been in such a difficult situation.
Any support means the world to me during this tough time. I hate feeling like I’m taking away from others, especially knowing that so many people are going through their own struggles—taking care of themselves and their families. I want to be clear: I’m not expecting anyone to donate. If it doesn’t feel right for you, that’s completely okay. Even just sharing this with a friend, or their friends and family, would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I truly appreciate every single one of you. <3
