My name is Gislaine, and I am working toward becoming a U.S. citizen. This journey has been especially challenging for my family and me. My citizenship application has been denied twice, largely due to the complex circumstances surrounding my husband’s past. He has legal repercussions due to a mistake he made when he was 18 years old, and as part of the process, we are now required to complete three separate evaluations for him. These evaluations are essential for my case to move forward, but they come with significant costs that we simply cannot afford on our own.

We have two children, and while my husband works, his income is not enough to cover the expenses for these evaluations along with our family’s daily needs. The deadline for my paperwork is approaching quickly, and without these evaluations, I risk losing my chance at citizenship again. Achieving citizenship would mean stability and security for our family, and it would open up new opportunities for our children’s future.
