Hello, my name is Ellis. I am a trans man living in Michigan with my two dogs, cat, and my beloved spouse. Like many others in the LGBTQ+ community, I am deeply concerned about the future of my rights and access to necessary healthcare. Due to recent election results and growing uncertainty around trans healthcare rights, I am reaching out for support in accessing gender-affirming top surgery.
This surgery is vital for my well-being, and it would allow me to live as my authentic self. I’ve already begun taking steps toward this transition, but the road ahead feels uncertain. Given the current political climate, I’m fearful that my opportunity for this life-changing surgery may be taken away. It’s terrifying to think that one’s right to personal and medical freedom could be at risk.
