Help Save Anthony & Bill’s Beautiful Mid Century Ranch Home

When Anthony Valbiro was child, the very room you see on the very right corner was where most of his dreams as an entertainer would come to life. And, through that window, he gazed out into the stars and dreamt of, one day, singing or acting on a stage and being a successful Broadway or Hollywood star. To his community of actors, friends and family, he achieved that long ago.

This childhood birthplace is where his dad and mother both actors and singers raised Anthony and his family to love and appreciate the arts. The mid century ranch home is not only a beautiful and emblematic example of a close-knit Italian family's life in Westchester in the 50s and 60s, it is the home Anthony and Bill (his husband) and their boxer “Gypsy Rose Lee Valliburton” live in today.

Currently the home is involved in a financial flux with a mortgage company, and while Anthony and Bill are paying all utilities, insurance, and maintaining the home, there is no feeling of stability and joy normally associated with home ownership. The fear that they ma be asked to leave their beloved home is a constant fear and threat.The guys deserve more than this.

Having this gift from you will help create a financial backbone, and allow for some leverage, negotiation power, and securely help them negotiate and gain title to a monthly structured payment.

When I approached the boys about this, I insisted they let me do this for them and manage this GoFund me, and simply let someone else do the asking. As you can imagine there is indeed pride, and embarrassment for those who are in need, and usually, us as friends, have to do some stepping up to help those who give us so much.

Anthony has entertained us all for decades, he’s given his heart to community theater, and has created magic in people’s homes for decades, either in paint or in decorations, and all for great praise, but very small fees.

Anthony’s generosity is in his creation of art, as a gift to people.

That’s why he doesn’t ask for high fees, or even what he deserves.

Even to the rich and very well-off people he often works for, he is always making them happy by exceeding their expectations, and they love him for it. And now, we are calling on everyone to help them save this home.

In the case of his home, the cost of Westchester taxes and maintaining and restoring a period home to Anthony’s level of perfection is next to impossible. For the last two years Anthony has been working hard in the arts despite cutbacks for the arts in every segment of business, in trying to restore the home.

They don't want to tear down and renovate the old kitchen he grew up in. That's part of the charm. But what will someone else who doesn't care about honoring a home or the period, do to this home?

At this point, the guys don’t need us for renovations, as much as they need us to help them save this house, create a stabile mortgage structure, and not hand it over for sale to someone who will raze it, and/or destroy this beautiful mid century home.

Remember “It’s a Wonderful life?” This is Anthony's favorite film. Years ago they decorated the entire front of the home for Christmas with hand painted wood cutouts of characters and created an entire scene on the from lawn of this very home (See Photo).

In The movie, everyone chipped in to buy a house for the Martinis. That was in the true spirit of giving.

This is the dream we need to make come true for these guys, and help them stay in a home they will honor and cherish the sanctity of for years to come.
