Hello friends,
Last week, I spent a few nights in my car, as a homeless person in Sacramento because I had nowhere to go. I was living in my 14 year old SUV.
However, a new friend offered me space in her small apartment, and I’ve been there for the last few days trying to get back on my feet.
I do have an apartment on hold in Midtown Sacramento but cannot move into it unless I pay the additional $2550. Plus moving expenses. Will you help me?
Through programs with local organizations I am eligible for half of my monthly rent of $1700 to be paid - temporarily. I WILL WORK FOR THE $850 REMAINDER OF MY MONTHLY RENT.
I am not looking for a handout. Just a hand up!
Now, many of you know that I’ve been unemployed for almost 3 years. I have at least 25 rejection letters from the 35-50 jobs I apply for every two weeks.
You also know that I’ve not lived alone in 14 years. I was a caregiver to my Poppa, and for the last 2 years a caregiver to an extended family member. However during that time I’ve done PR/Marketing/Social Media contracting work.
Now, I have shifted my focus, even after getting a certificate in Digital Marketing. Now I’m working hard on the at lower hanging fruit, like telemarketing, customer service and grocery store food packaging.
Because of two falls with a concussion, resulting in a broken rib, followed by a diagnosis of severe arthritis in my spine and now pneumonia, I am using a cane and trying to retrain my body. So jobs where I don’t have to stand work out best. If you know of any jobs, based on this information, please forward them my way.
I am certain that with the shift in my career direction and working with two job search coaches, and two small business coaches - all for free - I am sure to begin working within 4 weeks of this request.
So please, if you can please make a donation to this fund.I know these are hard times for everyone due to the worlds issues crashing down locally. No amount is too small as you can see below.
I absolutely appreciate those who have helped me previously.
Now is crunch time for me. Shelters here are full with my name on all of the waitlists. There are no safe spaces to park and sleep. And, unfortunately need to stay here in Sac to be able to access my state/county benefits.
So, if you can donate, please do and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me with a fresh, new start. See below for how you can help.
