I have been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Vasovagal Syncope, which cause episodes of dizziness, rapid heart rate, blood pressure instability, and recurrent fainting. These conditions significantly impact my ability to safely stand, walk, and complete daily tasks without risk of injury.

A service dog would help me manage episodes before they become unsafe by alerting to early changes in my heart rate, blood pressure, or physical signs that precede fainting. The dog would also provide bracing and counterbalance support when I am dizzy, assist with safe mobility, and help me sit or lie down before I lose consciousness. The dog would be able to retrieve medication or water, perform Deep Pressure Therapy to help stabilize symptoms, and get help or bring my phone if I do faint.

All funds raised will go directly toward the cost of obtaining and caring for a trained service dog. This includes the dog’s initial purchase or program fee, specialized medical alert and response training, travel expenses for required handler training sessions, and necessary equipment such as a harness, vest, and mobility support gear. Funds will also help cover ongoing care needs, including veterinary visits, vaccinations, medications, food, grooming, and maintaining health insurance for the dog. Any amount contributed will go directly toward ensuring the service dog is healthy, supported, and fully prepared to assist me safely and effectively in my daily life.
