Help Me Keep My First Apartment
On July 28th, 2025, I took a huge step forward—I moved into my very first apartment on my own. After months of living in a shelter in Miami Beach and starting a new job, I finally felt like I was building a foundation for my future.
But life threw an unexpected challenge my way. The shelter where I had been living was suddenly scheduled to close and be demolished to make way for a luxury condominium complex. What I thought would be a safe transition period was suddenly cut short. I was told I’d have financial support for my first and last month’s rent, but that assistance no longer came through as planned.
Now, I am behind on my rent for this month. Late fees are adding up, and my property manager has given me until November 19th to pay the outstanding balance before eviction proceedings begin.
I am asking for help to cover $1,470 for this month and $1,385 for December. These funds will not only keep me in my apartment but also preserve the stability I’ve worked so hard to achieve. Losing this apartment would set me back months—and right now, every day counts.
I am determined to continue working, building a life for myself, and staying independent. Your support would give me the chance to keep moving forward rather than starting over from scratch. Here is an article about the shelter’s closure that affected so many like me: NBC Miami Article
Even a small contribution can make a life-changing difference. Thank you for helping me keep a roof over my head and a chance to continue pursuing stability and independence.
