Help Secure a Future for Justin and Sidney
Donation protected
Please help secure a future for two incredible boys, Justin (15) and Sidney (11) from Western Kenya, who are orphaned after their mother, a cancer survivor, tragically took her own life. These boys have faced unimaginable hardships and are in urgent need of our support to continue their education.
Their Story:
Rose Nekesa Makinya, a devoted mother of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. Despite the grueling journey through chemotherapy and radiation, Rose faced her illness with immense courage and resilience, entering remission by 2021. Tragically, her battle did not end with her recovery.
After her diagnosis, Rose was unjustly driven from her matrimonial home by her husband, who wrongfully accused her of witchcraft - a commonly believed to be the cause of cancer. Forced to start anew, Rose relocated with Justin and Sidney, determined to complete her treatment and provide for her family. However, the prolonged treatment period led to the loss of her job, compelling her to take on menial jobs to make ends meet.
By 2024, unable to find stable employment to support her family, Rose succumbed to the overwhelming pressures and took her own life. In her final note, she expressed the unbearable burden of medical expenses and her plea for well-wishers to care for her beloved sons.
Our Mission:
Justin and Sidney are bright, resilient, and full of potential. Justin is currently in Form 1, and Sidney is in Grade 6 at Top Saints Academy. Last week, they were turned away from school because they were unable to pay their school fees. They both desperately want to return to study.
How You Can Help:
We are seeking to raise funds to cover their immediate school fees, allowing them to return to their studies and pursue their dreams. Your generous contribution will go directly towards:
Tuition Fees
School Supplies
Uniforms
Books
Justin and Sidney are currently living with the founder of Better World Cancer Organization - a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and families impacted by cancer in Western Kenya. They will manage all of the funds, ensuring that 100% support Justin and Sidney's education.
Why Your Support Matters:
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and giving Justin and Sidney a chance at a brighter future. Your support will not only help them return to school but also provide stability and hope during this challenging time. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference.
Thank You:
We are profoundly grateful for your generosity and compassion. Together, we can honor Rose's memory and last wish by ensuring her boys receive the education they deserve and the chance to build a better future.
