Hey guys! I’m Luis Arteaga, owner of Calusa Coffee Roasters.

For the last nine years, Calusa has been locally roasting some of the best coffees from around the world. My life and business partner, Maria, and I, are proud to have become an integral part of South Florida’s blossoming coffee scene, teaching and learning along the way.

Unfortunately, the next chapter of Calusa Coffee Roasters is in jeopardy. The last-minute sale of the building that we currently lease pushed us into a position to find the means to unexpectedly purchase the building, or lose our presence here in the Ft Lauderdale (Oakland Park?) community, a diverse community that we love and now consider family.

As a United States Marine Corps veteran, I’m not afraid of a challenge. We are here willing to fight to keep Calusa alive. All of our wholesale clients are small, family-owned businesses that depend on us and whom we equally depend on. South Florida’s small businesses deserve fighting for.

I’m confident that when this community pulls together we can accomplish anything. When we are able to purchase the building we’re securing the ability for us to serve you many more decades to come.
