Help Keep Our Home Forever

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,
We are reaching out to you during one of the most challenging times of our lives. We are currently facing the possibility of losing our home due to our landlords decision to sell. They have offered us the chance to buy it first since we have lived here these last 8 years. This home is not just a roof over our heads; it is a safe haven that holds our cherished memories and dreams for the future. As many know, all of our children have special needs, most notably being on the spectrum at different levels. We feel having to move them would be detrimental to the amazing progress they have each made.
A little about the kids: Brielle, 9, is AuDHD, has SPD, and dsypraxia. She loves “creepy” things and cheer. Xander, 8, NV autistic, eloper, and PICA, SPD, and other diagnoses. He loves minions, Mickey Mouse, squiglet, pizza rolls, French fries, swings and his rides. And Grayson, 6. AuDHD, ODD, and SPD. He loves to help daddy mow, go to the fire hall with daddy, trim, his tablet, cheer, marbles and cars and races. Our oldest does currently live with us as well while trying to save for a place of her own. Our house is perfectly set up for our kids unique needs. The landlords have allowed us to put the locks and alarms needed to keep Xander from escaping, there’s room for all the sensory equipment needed for the kids, and the kids all have room to themselves for when they are overstimulated and need to de-escalate.
Jason works full time as a general laborer, as well as scraps, mows, and digs graves. He also volunteers with the Mexico VFD. I take care of a couple elderly ladies who need assistance, clean, do Walmart Sparks, DoorDash, Instacart and Amazon Flex. I also babysit a boy about my kids age.
Despite our best efforts to manage our expenses and seek assistance, we find ourselves overwhelmed and in need of your support. These last few years, we’ve worked hard on raising our credit scores so we could someday buy a forever home. And had just reached that point. Then both vehicles died on us. So our savings and our credit scores have both taken a huge hit. And now someday has reached us. We’ve applied for the first time homeowners programs, but due to our credit were denied. We’ve applied for all kinds of grants and loans, including special ones for first responders due to Jason being a volunteer firefighter. We were denied for them all, unless we can show we have the down payment in a dedicated account, or as a gift. Due to our kids' medical needs, I’m not able to work. I’m called multiple times a week to pick them up or for a doctor appointment, etc., making replenishment of our savings extremely difficult. We are doing everything we can to get the money together. We are asking for your generosity to help us raise $10,000 for the down payment and closing costs, etc. Any extra we are blessed with will go directly to paying off the home.
Any contribution, no matter how small-even $1, will bring us one step closer to keeping our home. Your support means the world to us and will provide us with the stability we desperately need right now.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, and if you are unable to donate, sharing our story with your social network would also be a tremendous help. I’m willing and able to answer any questions, please ask. We’re working as quickly as we can, but takes time. My biggest fear is that the house will be sold and we will have nowhere to go with the kids. We are new to navigating all of this and it’s taking me some time to learn. I’ll take all the tips I can get!
Thank you for taking the time to read our plea and for considering helping us during this difficult time. We are truly grateful for any support you can offer.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Stevensons
