Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are deeply saddened to share that our friend and colleague, India Williams, a beloved member of the LSU Health Sciences Center community, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2025. India worked as a custodial staff member on the 6th floor of the CSRB building, where she was known and loved by everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. Our faculty, staff, and students are keeping Ms. Williams in our prayers and hearts.

India was a dedicated member of the LSUHSC custodial workforce and took great pride in her work. She was a radiant spirit, and her presence brightened our days. Her loss has left a deep void in our community.

India was a devoted single mother to her son, who is currently in high school and dreams of becoming an engineer. We, her colleagues at LSUHSC, have created this GoFundMe to help support his future education—something India cared deeply about. All contributions will go directly toward his educational needs and will serve as a small way for us to honor India’s dedication, kindness, and the lasting impact she had on all of us.

No amount is too small—every gesture helps us keep India’s generous spirit alive by investing in the future she worked so hard to secure for her son. Thank you for your kindness and support.
