Sebrand Takes on the Toughest Adventure Race on Earth

The Red Bull X-Alps isn’t just a paragliding race—it’s one of the world’s most grueling adventure competitions, followed by millions of fans across the globe. Over nearly two weeks, I’ll be racing across the Alps, covering over 1,200 km on foot and in the air, battling unpredictable weather, exhaustion, and 34 of the best adventure athletes on the planet. With live tracking, global media coverage, and an audience captivated by the drama unfolding in real time, this race is the Super Bowl of hike-and-fly—a true test of skill, endurance, and strategy.

For the past five years, while working as a UX designer in the evenings, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering this sport, flying over 1,300 hours in some of the most challenging conditions, competing in international hike-and-fly races, and pushing my endurance to the limit. I’ve stood on podiums, bivvied in remote mountains, and trained relentlessly to take on this race at the highest level. Now, I have the opportunity to compete in the X-Alps, but I need your help to make it happen.

Thanks to Advance Paragliders, my flying equipment is covered, but the remaining costs to compete at this level are steep. I need to raise $22,000 to cover essentials like:

Transport & Logistics – Getting my team and gear across Europe before, during, and after the race ($3,500)

️Food for the Team – Keeping six people fueled and ready for non-stop action ($2,500)

Gas & Tolls – Covering thousands of kilometers of driving through the Alps ($3,000)

Van Rental – Our mobile base camp for the race ($3,000)

️️Training Costs – Dedicated preparation to be strong on the ground and in the air ($10,000)

Media Team – My media team is currently volunteering for the part; however, Zach Gessan can dedicate a lot more time to editing and storytelling before and after the race if we can support him financially! ($9000)
