Help Sebastian Hernandez Stay in LA and Create Art

Disclaimer: I'm currently facing eviction and have made this fundraiser goal to ask for the minimum need as to not be exhaustive of my community and be sensitive not to take up too much space amidst the fundraisers for the people who have been directly affected by the fires. I am actively working on finding work. Love to all of Los Angeles that's going through hard times amidst this devastation.

Hi, I'm Sebastian Hernandez aka BROWNSKINHAZEL, a full-time freelance artist, DJ, and party organizer living in Los Angeles. I create multidisciplinary artworks and have been building my career from the ground up in this vibrant city. Unfortunately, recent events have thrown some major challenges my way, and I’m reaching out for support from my community and networks during this difficult time.

Over the past month, I've faced a combination of health setbacks and unforeseen circumstances. I was sick (INFLUENZA) for two weeks and unable to work, which put me behind on projects, unable to reach out for work, and left me financially strained. On top of that, wildfires in the area forced the cancellation of several gigs and events that I was counting on to make ends meet this month.

As a non-binary femme artist, life in LA as a freelance artist has always presented its challenges, but this period of illness and financial hardship has been especially tough amidst the fires here. I’m asking for your help to get back on my feet, buy me some time, and continue doing the work I’m passionate about. The funds will go toward:

- Covering two months rent (January + February)

- Rescheduling canceled gigs and paying for related fees

- Supporting the creation of a new batch of pencil drawings (I have two done, need 2-3 more)

- Buying me time to figure out my tumultuous and uncertain work field
