Hi, we’re Sebastian and Oliver, best friends and recent graduates from East High School in Denver, Colorado. We’re raising funds to help finish our 1995 BMW E34 race car build.
We started this project in May 2025 with the goal of turning an old BMW sedan into a serious track car inspired by DTM, NASA GTS, and old-school BMW motorsport. Our long-term goal is to get the car running, test it at local track days, and eventually build it toward wheel-to-wheel racing. We've taken up this project in hopes that it will help us learn and apply the automotive engineering concpents that we are pursuing in our careers.
Since buying the car, we have stripped it down to a bare shell, removed the interior, wiring, suspension, brakes, glass, subframes, and drivetrain parts, custom fabricated race-spec polycarbonate windows, built sheet metal door cards, shaved and re-painted the engine bay, prepped the chassis, and started the roll cage by bending the pipe and learning to weld.
Outside of the build, we run 5280 Auto Service, where we work on cars, take on automotive projects, and use builds like this to grow our skills in fabrication, mechanical work, and performance setup.
The plan is to swap in a BMW S54 engine from an E46 M3. First, we want to get the car running naturally aspirated, reliable, and sorted. Later down the road, we hope to add an ESS supercharger setup and turn it into the supercharged E34 we’ve been dreaming about.
We’ve already been lucky enough to receive support from companies like Plasticare, who helped us with the polycarbonate windows. Now we’re looking for help with the next stage of parts, including Ground Control suspension, a custom-geared differential, Mishimoto oil coolers, cooling system parts, engine swap parts, wiring, ECU setup, fuel system parts, roll cage materials, racing seats, harnesses, wheels, tires, and track-ready brake components.
We appreciate donations, sponsorships, discounted parts, used parts, fabrication help, and advice from people with more experience.
Thank you for helping us bring this E34 one step closer to the track.
