I'm an American in the Philippines.

I have a child by an Indigenous Filipina by the name of Sean-Vincent Ocarang Rogers.

It would seem that Sean's very ill; he was taken to the province of the Philippines by his mother, of course, against my advice.

You see, Sean is only 1 year and 4 months old and is not able to stand up for himself.

He has been in the hospital after going to the province once before, and I was able to pay his medical expenses.

I make only a small SSDI allowance of a little over 1000.

This time, the money is all spent, and now, because of his mother, he is very ill again. Though he's better now, there's the matter of the hospital bill. I was called by a doctor at the hospital here and asked if I would admit him. Of course, I did. I had to tell the doctor I had no money and that the monthly budget was exhausted. So he was admitted, and now he is not allowed to leave the hospital until the bill is paid. He is so very, very sad and angered. He wants to go home after doctors have been poking needles for IV drips in him over and over again.

Here in the Philippines, you don't get a bill; you pay, or you don't get released.

I have paid the medical for her son by another, but now I can't free my own son.

I am still thankful that the amount of money is below $1000, but it will climb and climb the longer poor Sean has to stay.
