In the early hours of August 24th, 2 days before his 38th birthday, Sean had a grand mal seizure at 1:00 in the morning. He has no history of epilepsy, so it came as a total shock. After tests and hours of observation at the hospital, he came home to rest and recover.
Physically, he will be okay (such a blessing!), but it definitely has put a damper on his financial plans for stability. The coming dread of paying for a hospital and ambulance bill was added on top of what happened just 4 days prior...
Just 6 days before his birthday, Sean was in a freeway car accident. Thankfully, he got lucky with only some whiplash, but he found out 3 days later, that his car is a complete loss. Insurance decided that the repairs would cost more than the car itself, which came as a surprise, so Sean will see $0 to invest in a new vehicle. On top of the logistical nightmare of quickly getting a new car so he can continue to work, his car has become a source of joy for him, even joining a few local car clubs! He has put so much love into his new tinkering project he lovingly named "Nora," so having a new healthy outlet being taken away is ripping him apart.
As it was for most people (but especially for artists), the pandemic was not a good time. After receiving no support from unemployment, he did literally whatever odd job he needed to do to make ends meet. He faced that extended time with more resilience than anyone I have ever known. I have watched this incredible man go through so much hardship, and so little of it was brought on by his own doing. Sean hates the fact that crowdsourcing is what his life requires right now. Please, please consider helping him get back on his feet. If you know Sean, you know that his heart is compassionate and generous, his soul is fiery and outspoken, and he has worked really hard to have a conscious and sober lifestyle that supports family life and his career aspirations.
Your donation will make so much difference to his life in the following ways:
-a down-payment for a new car so he can still gig (the tricky part is that it has to hold all his gear! So a small coupe is more affordable, but unfortunately not an option...).
-funds to cover the pending medical bills from his ER visit and ambulance ride (he has medical insurance, but we're sure there will be some kind of payment involved).
-expense coverage for mortgage and other bills, as his savings will be depleted from the other situations.
I acknowledge that he still has his health, and the fact that that is not an issue is such a gift. Anything you are able and willing to give is incredibly helpful, and we thank you so much for helping get Sean's life back on track. We are so grateful.
