My name is Sean, and last month I had seizures for the first time. My mom called 911, and while in the hospital, I learned I had an abscess in my sinuses that spread to my brain.

The hospital performed surgery, draining the infection in my sinuses, and put me on antibiotics to try to treat the brain infection.

I was released for a week and a half, but had to return to the hospital on the 1st, which was the day I was supposed to go back to work. From what doctors told me, one of the antibiotics caused my white blood cell count to plummet, and the brain abscess got slightly bigger.

I'm now on new antibiotics that seem to be going well, but unlike when I was last released, I'm not being allowed to self-administer the antibiotics, requiring me to do 8 weeks in a rehab facility.

My job is safe with FMLA, but my PTO is almost gone. I have no income right now, and I live with my disabled mother, who is thankfully being taken care of by my aunt while I'm in the hospital.
