Hello Friends and Family!
As a lot of you already know, Sean was in the hospital after a nasty fall on our slippery kitchen floor while we were having fun taking dance lessons from our 7 year old daughter Soleil.
This simple slip sent him to the hospital with a rib contusion causing internal bleeding. The first visit to the ER he was sent home with Ibuprofen and zero tests to see about the bleeding. But something wasn't right.
We were back at the ER two days later after spiking nearly 104 fever, and that is when they found the internal bleeding from his liver and kidney that had already turned to sepsis. They also found a few more life threatening things that high blood pressure was aggravating. This included an esophageal varices in his upper GI that was about to burst from high blood pressure. Luckily they caught this the second visit.
If we hadn't had returned for second visit, the doctors would not have caught all the things the other doctors didn't and said he was very lucky to not die. They told us it was a good thing he had that fall to bring him in from the pain or they may not have caught all the other things going on. Thanks Soleil for the dance class so we could find and begin to fix all these issues!
He is stable now and healing from home now on lots of medications. He is anemic, dizzy, weak, exhausted, sore and the doctor has ordered that he rest and not have any strenuous activity till at least January. It is hard to even pick things up from the floor, be awake the entire day and it hurts to even hold a guitar when he tries to play.
With all of this, he has had to take a break from teaching and his other water filtration job which was going very well. He is required to lift 50-100lbs while installing home water purifying filtration systems. Even the promotion he was about to get was going to require this same heavy lifting every day. The boss has been very understanding and still has a place for him when he is able to return possibly in January. But for now, it is extremely painful to even drive a car with his rib and the overall painful soreness of recovery.
I am working double triple shifts delivering with Instacart, Spark and Amazon and also teaching music to make up for this, but it is still not making ends meet with the new bills and now single income. As we know, most of us have to have a double income in this current economy.
Yes we have the hospital bills, ongoing follow ups and tests, medications along with our usual bills utilities, gas, groceries, tuition, insurance, car payments etc the list goes on as I am sure you all are well aware with your own lives.
If anyone is able to financially help us get through this recovery period until he can get back to work and/or help us find a new job where he can sit, rest and work remote from home, it would be greatly appreciated!
Sending Love to you and yours!
Thank you all for your time!
