Help Sean Get Out Of His House!

It's time to replace my 21-year-old porch lift. Living in a raised bungalow, the porch lift is my only access in and out of my home. Obviously, getting out of the house allows me to go to work, to appointments, and just, well, outside. The current one is now unreliable in the winter (I have been stranded on it more than once in sub-zero degree temperatures.) The safety gate is now stuck in a down position, even at the top of the lift, when it's supposed to be creating a barrier to keep my chair from falling off the edge. It's an adrenaline rush every time I use the lift, as I have to carefully maneuver at the top to get off and into the house. Did I mention it's also too small, because they put this one in when I was 8, and in a much smaller chair? So, the maneuvering requires deft moves. Also, the adjoining deck is shrinking away, so there's a significant gap between the two platforms.

The funding sources we have gone to for help in the past have been unable to help this time, as many of them have been unable to do their usual fundraising during the pandemic.
