Help Sean Fight Kidney Disease

Donation protected
**Update 9/15/24
Sean had his ports removed and is no longer on dialysis! Everything seems to be going really well and he's finally starting to feel himself again.

**Update 7/3/24
Sean received a call this past week that he had a match for a kidney donation! He is recovering now and will be monitored for the next couple of weeks to make sure there's no rejection. It'll be a long road but we are so happy that he'll be able to stop dialysis in the near future. He's now about 6 months to a year out before being cleared to go back to work. Any donation helps!

**Update 1/5/23
Sean is thankfully continuing to recover at home, and has continued dialysis 3x a week. Unfortunately he is unable to continue working at this time and his disability only pays $170 a week. We are hoping to be able to have him get set up with an at-home dialysis system in the near future to help surpass the scheduling inconveniences of going to a clinic. The dialysis has continued to make him feel better as he awaits the next step- a kidney biopsy.

On behalf of my cousin Sean's family, we are starting this fundraiser to alleviate the burden of the medical costs associated with Sean's kidney disease. Sean is quite literally one of the funniest guys on the planet, and he has a huge heart. We are hoping that this fundraiser will allow Sean to focus on his health and future, and not the bills associated with this disease.

On December 9th, Sean took himself to the emergency room after spending the previous night vomiting with intense stomach cramps. After initial testing, it was discovered that Sean's kidneys were functioning at only 5% capacity. Sean was immediately hospitalized, and at 34 years old, this was obviously extremely unexpected.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of testing and rounds of dialysis. While we still don't know exactly what caused his kidney failure, we do know that the medical bills are starting to add up.

On December 16th, Sean finally went home after spending a week in the hospital. During his stay, he had 2 different surgerys to put a port in both his neck and chest, as well as his left arm, to better access his blood for dialysis. While we're all glad he's finally out of the hospital, he will need dialysis multiple times a week to keep his kidneys functioning. Each dialysis session costs about $1,500, and Sean will need to go 3 times a week for the foreseeable future.

Once his red blood cells are back to an appropriate level, Sean will undergo a kidney biopsy procedure to determine how best to proceed. Following those test results, Sean will need a kidney transplant.

The last thing we want Sean to worry about right now is the medical costs associated with this disease. We kindly ask anyone willing to help Sean to give a donation towards his medical bills. No donation is too small, and they are all immensely appreciated. If you aren't able to donate, please share this campaign as widely as you can. We are extremely grateful.
