Help SEAN BASHURA fight like hell #FckCncr

March 3rd - we are devastated to share the news that Sean crossed the finish line in the race of life last night at 7 pm; he was a CHAMPION in every sense of the word. The kindness and generosity that has been shared within this GoFundMe, the calls, texts we've received are absolutely overwhelming - and TRULY appreciated. If we've not replied or replied w/ a heart emoji - don't take it personally.

In that spirit, we're planning a celebration (and it is going to be a GREAT celebration!) of Sean's life in the coming days and we will share information as soon as we have it.

IF you're able to contribute further, help out w/ supporting Sean's services in any way, please consider making a donation to this GoFundMe or call one of us directly for Venmo/PayPal info.

We love you, Sean - you can now truly rest in peace.

Tell Grammy & Pop we send our love.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen, brother.
====================================================November 5th - not a great update - unfortunately: Sean’s been hospitalized since Sunday October 26th - if you’ve reached out to him & he's not responded - here’s why.

Late Sunday the 26th our friends (who am I kidding, they ARE family - thank you all so much!!!) & community heroes @ Storm Engine Co#2 Ambulance Corps brought Sean to Yale ER, where he was treated for complications related to his #FckCancer battle.

While at Yale they performed an MRI of the spine & we’re devastated to share that the melanoma that we thought was removed August 4th has metastasized to the spine & they’ve diagnosed him w/ LeptoMeningeal Disease (Google LMD and melanoma for more info).

Sean's payroll from St Lawrence Parish (who’ve been FANTASTIC to our family during these incredibly difficult days and months) has run out & he’s now been placed on CTPLA for roughly 60% of regular payroll assistance for the next 12 weeks.

Your help is needed now more than ever - for those who’ve already donated - THANK YOU! For those who are hesitant to donate thru GFM, plz reach out to Jason (or if you want me to get a message to him - I’d be glad to do that, too!). If you don’t have my contact info, plz IM me on Facebook.

If you’re able to help w/ meals for mom & Aimee while they’re @ Yale caring for Sean - plz reach out to Jason for that as well. Thanks for your support & inspirational messages. Sean knows we’re all pulling for him & praying real hard.

The next few days will be telling in how the battle is going - as they’ve just started his BRAF targeted therapies to try to destroy the cancer in the spine / cerebral spinal fluid - while hopefully helping to mitigate the extraordinary pain he is in at present.

Please give if you can, pray for our brother, son & boyfriend Sean.

Consider giving blood if you can, it truly does SAVE LIVES!

Thanks so much for your support!!!!!!!!!
=======================
Our brother, our friend, our rock - SEAN BASHURA - was dealt a massive blow on Friday August 1st. After presenting to the doctor's office with complaints of headaches, vomiting and left sided weakness, he was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital with concerns of a stroke but was subsequently diagnosed with a large and very rare brain tumor called a collision tumor, consisting of both a meningioma and melanoma.

Sean underwent successful brain surgery on August 4th and he is currently undergoing intensive rehab at Gaylord Specialty Hospital, for deficits cause by the tumor (vision changes, walking/balance issues, and memory loss), leaving him with the inability to drive at this time . We know that Sean has months of therapy ahead of him, while awaiting the as-of-yet determined course of treatment to battle these tumors/cancer.

Sean & his girlfriend Aimee live in Derby in an apartment around the corner from where we all grew up as kids, on Mohawk Ave. During a recent "free-weekend" at home (part of the rehab from the incredible services available to Sean at Gaylord) where we walked their dog Taco, joked and talked about the fun times & memories we had as kids, we also talked about the long road ahead. Sean is thankful for the tremendous supports from his St. Lawrence parish family, where he works, and many family and friends who have provided meals, offered texts, calls & conversations to help him know we are ALL behind him.

Sean faces the financial burden of hospital bills, transportation costs as well as ongoing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy treatment costs, that will not be fully covered by insurance. We all know that Sean is about as stubborn and strong-willed as they come, and he doesn't want hand-outs or to be the recipient of anything. However, these are unprecedented times and he will need the support from his family, friends and community. He will need all the support he can get. Thank you for whatever support you can offer Sean to help him #FightLikeHell

**UPDATE***

Here's the video (hopefully this time!) from Sean this morning, October 9th. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_odpauMhhVE
