Hi, I’m Sean Bannon — an endurance athlete, cancer research coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital, and someone who believes that movement is one of the most powerful forms of medicine we have.
In July 2026, I’ll attempt the Arch to Arc Triathlon — an 87-mile run from London to Dover, a solo swim across the English Channel, and a 180-mile bike ride to Paris. Fewer than 70 athletes have ever finished it, and if successful, I’ll be the youngest person to complete it without a wetsuit.
In 2025, I became one of fewer than 400 people in history to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming — solo crossings of the English Channel, 20 Bridges Manhattan, and the Catalina Channel. Over 80 miles of ocean, those swims taught me that endurance is not just physical, but deeply human — a reminder that motion itself can heal and connect us.
Now, I’m taking on this next challenge to raise awareness for lifestyle medicine and early cancer detection — two areas that can save countless lives, yet remain overlooked in modern healthcare. As both an athlete and cancer researcher, I’ve seen firsthand how movement, prevention, and early screening can change — and often save — lives. Check out the amazing MGH programs linked above and learn how you can become involved!
These efforts come with major costs: safety boats, permits, and travel expenses totaling nearly $15,000. Your support helps get me safely to the start line and fuels a mission that’s bigger than sport — to move, inspire, and advocate for those who can’t.
Thank you for believing in this journey.
— Sean
