Hi, my name is Sean Stuart Byrne. I’m 19 years old, from Gibraltar, and I’m reaching out to ask for support as I take a big step of faith in my life.
Like many young people, I found the COVID years extremely challenging and struggled with depression during that time. After completing my GCSEs, I made the difficult but necessary decision to pause formal studies and prioritise my mental health. I changed my environment, began working, and focused on learning responsibility and understanding who I am becoming
I have been working as a supply Janitor for the Ministry of Defence, where I’ve learned discipline, teamwork, and the importance of serving others. Alongside this, my faith as a Christian has grown significantly, especially over the past year. Attending NewDay was a turning point for me — it strengthened my faith, deepened my relationship with God, and ignited a fresh hunger to grow spiritually.
Recently, I’ve felt a strong sense that I need a change of environment. I thrive when I’m challenged and pushed beyond my comfort zone, and I truly believe that God is calling me to take a bold step. For me, this feels like a “now or never” moment — a chance to grow in faith, character, discipline, and purpose.
I’m incredibly grateful to share that I have officially been offered a place at CSALT Academy in Australia for next year. CSALT is a hands-on discipleship programme focused on growing in faith, serving others, spreading the Gospel, and building strong Christian community. The course only accepts 25 people, and after a detailed application process and interviews, I was accepted — something I truly thank God for.
I’ve already been able to raise enough money to cover my travel to Australia, the initial down payment, and early course costs. However, I still need help with the remaining course fees. From April to November 2026.
