Hi, Codi Vierra here (again)!

As the South State Regional Director for the California Young Democrats, it's my job to make sure that our local chapters are represented at the California Young Democrats meetings, the next of which is taking place in San Francisco, May 31st - June 2nd, in conjunction with the California Democratic Party Convention meeting. That's pretty far from San Diego!

We're the largest region in the state at 31 chapters (the next closest has only 16!), and the vast majority of our chapters are made up of high school and college students who don't necessarily have the funds or means to participate in a lot of these meetings or events.

I'm fundraising to pay for hotel rooms and transportation (again, San Francisco is pretty far from San Diego!). We're squeezing, but it still looks like it'll come out to around $115/person just for the hotel, let alone transportation, registration fees, etc. Not everyone can afford this, and it shouldn't be a barrier to participating.

If we raise more than needed, then this money will go toward paying for the Summer Eboard, Tahoe Retreat, and/or Fall Convention. This money raised on GoFundMe will not be used to make campaign contributions or for other political activities. If we don't raise enough, then I'll be picking up the tab, so every bit helps!
