Help Scout pay for damages for hit-and-run

Hi there,

My name is Scout and I'm fundraising for an accident that happened in early October. I rented a car thru Turo and got in a hit and run when I was in Kansas City. I was with my roommate Matthew Lippman and we filed a police report right after it happened. I had gotten Turo's minimum protection plan- which does not protect guest or cover accidents... I tried going thru my independent Insurance, but I only have liability. Turo has had no luck contacting the third party for their insurance and is pursuing to charge me out of pocket for the damages done. I was driving a ford 2020 fusion and the total damages cost comes out to $4,888. I really feel uncomfortable asking for help but am in no position to pay for this out of pocket. Anything helps.
