Dear friends and family,

I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my dear friend and coworker, Scotty Simmons, and his fiancée, Jessie Harris. Recently, they endured Hurricane Helene while living in Chimney Rock, one of the hardest-hit areas in the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village.

Their journey

Scotty moved to Chimney Rock in 2020 when Wedgewood became licensed in North Carolina. He met Jessie shortly after that move and they have built their lives there. Hurricane Helene has turned their world upside down. They are now displaced from their home, facing an uncertain future as they navigate the aftermath of this devastating storm.

The Situation

Hurricane Helene has decimated many homes and businesses in the Village. Scotty and Jessie are among those affected, and the outlook for their community is grim. They are currently without a place to stay and are grappling with the emotional and financial toll of this disaster.
