On August 5th, he had an aortic dissection. He does not qualify for stent surgery because the dissection is pretty much the whole descending aorta and it can’t be stented. We are hoping it will heal on its own. We are looking at possibly 6 month minimum recovery time to get close to where he was physically before.
With the CT scan that found the dissection, they also found an ascending aortic aneurysm. He’s been diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease and anemia.
Scottie is self employed, and he and Shauna have a daughter. Hannah.
They have already incurred so many medical expenses and Scottie will be out of work for a while.
