We are reaching out with heavy hearts but also deep gratitude for the love and strength that Scott and Velvet have shared for over 35 years. Many of you know Scott’s incredible journey—a story of resilience, faith, and unwavering love.

Scott has endured over 20 surgeries, three kidney transplants, three heart attacks, and more than 20 years of dialysis—defying the odds every step of the way. Despite these challenges, he and Velvet have poured their hearts into loving their family and friends, mentoring young people, and serving their community.

Recently, Scott received the devastating diagnoses of colon cancer and lymphoma. Given his fragile health, he and Velvet have made the difficult decision to forgo aggressive treatment. Now under the care of a palliative team, they are cherishing the time they have left together.

As Velvet steps away from work to care for Scott, they are facing significant financial burdens. Medical equipment, daily expenses, and the eventual celebration of Scott’s life all weigh heavily on them. Scott and Velvet have always been the ones to give—now, they need our support.
