Help Scott & Terri with medical & travel expenses
Donation protected
My name is Chris , I had the privilege to work with Scott every day for 6 years on our division in a NYSDOCCS facility. Scott is not just a CO, he’s a son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather. On Memorial Day 2021 he had a massive heart attack, had to be resuscitated, and inevitably have open heart surgery to fix multiple blockages and a blood clot in his heart. It was a stressful night when his wife told us “The doctor said any family that can get here with in an hour, needs to now”. If you know Scott he’s a stubborn bastard (only way to describe him). He pulled through but his heart did not, he has had multiple cardiac cath procedures and a defibrillator/pacemaker implanted. His heart is now functioning at less than 30% and because of the continuing decline his kidneys have begun to shut down. Scott and Terri traveled to NYC in 2022 where he had an LVAD connected to his heart, to help stabilize him as he awaits a kidney and heart transplant.
Scott is still on the LVAD and recently has had an increase in retaining fluid. Just last month he was in NYC where they removed 11 liters from him. They talked about placing a pressure monitor in his heart, however he retained fluid so quickly again they had to admit him for acute care. They are keeping him inpatient at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC until a heart and kidney transplant can be completed. Any donation to help him and his family with the medical bills, rooming and travel for his family so that Scott does not have to be alone.
Scott was medically terminated in 2022 from the department and lost his health insurance. Please help our brother in blue. All of the things Scott has gone through medically he said the hardest thing he has done is turn in his badge.
