Hi, My name is Meg. With Scott’s permission, Laura Schronen, Kiah Abendroth and I are reaching out to you on this private link to ask you for help for Scott.

Scott was a high functioning husband and step father. He worked steadily for years as a machinist and draftsman. He began experiencing flashbacks and intrusive thoughts around 2007.

These flashbacks began to take over, creating a life of their own. This trauma- induced mental illness affected all areas of his life, including his ability to function at work. Every day logistics became a huge challenge and relationships were deeply affected.

Scott was eventually enveloped in an inescapable spiral of anguish and pain.

Feelings of depression, confusion, emotional overwhelm, and wanting to leave the planet have been a daily struggle.

Scott has been actively looking for help, but this is a very specialized type of treatment - that his Hawaii state funded insurance does not provide for.

On Aug. 30, 2022, Scott spent his entire meager savings to obtain a private health insurance. He then entered a program in Carlsbad, CA called Waves. It is a small, men’s only trauma treatment center that offers residential, partial and outpatient care. Scott needs help maintaining insurance and living expenses. He has a truck on Kauai that is broken, and a little rental that is holding his possessions.
