Help Scott Sherman Fight Cancer!
Donation protected
In late Nov, my brother Scott received some difficult news; he has Stage 3 cancer. He hadn't been feeling well, but initially thought it was an ear/throat infection that antibiotics would cure. After several rounds of antibiotics that only mildly helped; he began to have swelling in his throat, difficulty eating, undesired weight loss and extreme fatigue that he just couldn’t shake. The doctors ordered a series of scans and biopsies that confirmed the diagnosis. The cancer had spread to his lymph node so his oncologist recommended he start chemo and radiation right away.
Scott began chemo and radiation therapies on Jan 11th. He will have 2 more high-dose chemo treatments that are 7-hours long. The radiation treatments are 5 days a week for 7 weeks. Each have their own side effects and have hit Scott earlier than anticipated and hard. The most frustrating for him is his inability to talk. After the treatments, he will have a period of time for more recovery.
I'm sharing this difficult news because Scott needs our help. The best way to help him right now is with the out-of-pocket insurance premiums and medical expenses. If you know Scott, the last thing he wants is to ask for help. Donations can also be made via Venmo @laheiser. If you are unable to help monetarily, please keep him in your thoughts and send good vibes his way. Thank you in advance for your support!
Scott wants everyone to know that there is a vaccine to protect against HPV that caused his type of cancer. When the body's immune system can't get rid of the HPV infection, it turns normal cells into abnormal cells and then cancer. We can tell you first hand; preventing HPV cancer is better than treating it.
