Hello everyone! I'm Stephanie, Scott's sister, and I've decided to create this gofundme for my baby brother to help cover his cost for living and for medical care. Anyone who has gotten to know Scott knows just how willing he is to help other people, and now it's our turn to help him.
Scott found out just before his birthday in mid-February that he has stage 3 (possibly stage 4) Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Stage 3 indicates that cancer has spread to 100% of his body. I state possible stage 4 because he has had some issues with his heart leading up to being in well enough health to start chemotherapy, and stage 4 indicates cancer being in the organs and bones as well. It's indicated that cancer may have started when Scott went through puberty, and some recent health challenges that he's had have led him to push for testing to figure out what was wrong. All of his doctors were surprised at their findings, but it was nice to finally be able to have an answer to how he's been feeling. As we've been told, Hodgkin's Lymphoma is the cancer to have if you're going to have cancer. Its survivability rate is at about 80%, so we're very hopeful that Scott will be able to get through all this.
Due to Scott's heart only working at 50% once the cancer was detected, his chemotherapy had to be pushed back a few weeks until it was back to normal, but he will be starting soon, and I will give some updates as time goes on. Scott currently works in construction, which will be hard to continue to work in while he undergoes chemotherapy. The goal amount has been calculated for what he will need for bills, groceries, and to cover out-of-pocket expenses to undergo the care he needs. I have also added a small bumper to counteract gofundme's fees.
Currently, Scott currently lives in Rudolph with his partner Emma, his brother Stephen, and Stephen's partner Corvus. He's developed a nightshade allergy within the last few years, which we now attribute to a possible side effect of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. If you can't donate right now, I ask that you share this page on your preferred social media platform so that it may reach everyone who would love to help Scott at this time. If you wish to see if there is any other way for you to help, you have questions, or you would like to reach out, please contact me so that I can reach out to him on your behalf so that there is no added stress for him at this time.
We ask that you keep him in your prayers, blessings and thoughts as he goes through this process and that at the end of it all he comes out happy and healthy.
