Long story short. On July 23rd, my husband, Scott Robel Sr., was hit by a car en route to work on his bike. His leg/ankle is broken in 3 places. He had his 1st surgery on August 17th with an external fixator and today, September 11, for plates and screws.

We are strapped financially (yes, just like everyone else).

My last check was my university check in July and the next check is mid-September. There has been no disability or compensation to date or will be for several weeks (because the surgery was almost a month delayed because of insurance issues). Disability is anticipated to be delayed until Halloween and return to work would be after Thanksgiving. The driver that hit him, insurance is not paying. (Yes, we are getting a lawyer.)

I was evicted for non-payment of rent from my 15-year apartment. (I exhausted all financial aid available.) I am currently still under a workman's comp case from July of 2023.

We are currently renovating an old mobile trailer and making do there.

Everything we have is behind since July: rent, internet, car insurance, Jeep payments, propane, cell services, electric, etc. We have been applying for aid in every area possible. We use food pantries for basics and dog food.

We've been physically drained for weeks packing, moving, unpacking, fixing up, all during these issues, like doctor's appointments, university, and life in general.
