Help My Dad Get a Life-Saving Lung Transplant ❤️‍

Hi, my name is Brianna, and I’m reaching out on behalf of someone I love with all my heart—my dad.
He’s 56 years old and has just received a lung transplant after bravely battling lung disease since July 1, 2023. This journey has been incredibly hard on our family, emotionally and financially. While we’re holding on to hope and strength, we now face one of the biggest challenges yet: getting my dad through the transplant process and recovery.

Why We’re Asking for Help
A lung transplant is an extremely expensive and complex medical procedure. While insurance thankfully covers much of the medical cost, it does not cover everything—especially the significant living expenses required during recovery.
After the transplant surgery, my dad will spend 1 week in the ICU, 2 weeks in hospital, and then we are required to stay near the hospital in San Francisco for approximately 2-3 months for close monitoring and rehabilitation. The cost of temporary housing, food, transportation, and time away from work adds up quickly.
As his primary caregiver, I will be going on Family Medical Leave for 12 weeks, which means I’ll be unpaid during this time. Any money donated will be greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of bills during this time.

A Family Hit Hard—Again
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that this is the second time our family is facing a major transplant. My amazing mom underwent a heart transplant in 2008, and while we are endlessly grateful for the gift of time it gave us, the financial strain from years of medical battles has taken its toll.
This situation is deeply humbling. My dad is not someone who would ever ask for help—he’s proud, quiet, and always puts others first. But as his daughter, I’m asking on his behalf. I want him to be able to focus only on healing and getting stronger, not worrying about bills or expenses during what will be the fight of his life.

How You Can Help
We are reaching out to friends, family, and anyone willing to give a little to help us get through this incredibly difficult time. No amount is too small—every dollar brings us one step closer to making sure my dad has what he needs to recover without added stress.
Your generosity will help cover:
• Temporary housing in San Francisco

• Daily living costs during recovery

• Transportation, food, and caregiving supplies

• Financial support while I’m on unpaid leave
