Help Scott Recover from a Severe Accident
Donation protected
6/25 Update: We finally saw the surgeon who will be running a few tests to determine if Scott is infection free. Once the biopsy and scans are done and reveal he is infection free, Dr. Husain will then be able to move forward and create a surgical plan and have a surgery date.
We appreciate everyone who’s donated and has shared this GoFundMe in advance.
6/20 Update: Scott is now scheduled to see the Orthopedic Surgeon on 6/24. We hope a surgery date is in the horizon.
5/21. We are having problems securing a follow-visit due to insurance red-tape. We hope this gets taken care of soon.
To those who have shared this GoFundMe and donated, many thanks!
Last March, my husband was involved in a car accident while trying to find parking at a local supermarket.
Initially, he didn't feel any pain and wanted to move on, so we let the car insurance handle it. However, over the next few weeks, his arm started hurting more and more. We thought it was just age catching up with him, especially after visiting urgent care and being told to take over-the-counter pain medicine.
On October 19, 2024, he suffered a seizure while sleeping, and we rushed him to the emergency room. He was asked to stay home and not drive for 90 days, as required by state law.
On January 17, 2025, the day he was released to go back to work, we rushed him to the ER because he couldn't lift his arm. It was swollen, and he was in a lot of pain. It turned out he had sepsis and needed emergency surgery. The existing hardware in his arm had shifted and caused a severe infection. He spent 10 days in the hospital and had multiple surgeries. After speaking to the doctors and reviewing his medical history, it was determined that the fender bender from last March had done more harm than we initially thought. Now, he's walking around with a temporary cement spacer and will need more surgeries. Even though we have medical insurance, we're facing a lot of out-of-pocket costs as this surgery is very complex and expensive, causing financial strain.
We've tried very hard to keep up with our medical bills, mortgage, and regular utility bills. But after much consideration and on the advice of friends, I have decided to start this GoFundMe for my sweet husband and our family in the hope that someone out there can lend a hand and donate towards his medical expenses and help with the financial burden caused by the accident.
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide for our family.
