HELP SCOTT FIGHT PANCREATIC CANCER
A Beloved Friend, Husband, Father, and Colleague Needs Our Help
Several months ago, our dear friend and colleague Scott Kurtzweil received a devastating diagnosis: stage 4 pancreatic cancer. For those who know how grim the odds can be, you also know how rare and remarkable it is to hear this: Scott is responding incredibly well to treatment.
Through months of chemotherapy and constant hospital visits, Scott has continued to bring his signature wit, warmth, and thoughtful banter to those around him. He is an incredibly dedicated and thoughtful friend and coworker, a passionate musician, devoted husband, and a loving father to three sons.
Many of us didn’t even realize he was going through this battle. That’s just who Scott is, quietly courageous, and never one to complain or ask for help. Fortunately, Renee and Scott have agreed to this GoFundMe campaign. Now, we have the chance to step up and support them in their time of need.

WHY WE'RE RAISING FUNDS
Cancer is exhausting. And it's expensive.
Even with insurance, Scott is facing significant medical costs, from ongoing treatments to medications, scans, and follow-up care. He and Renee have also spent countless hours on the road, driving over an hour each way to specialists and treatment centers multiple times per week.
Where the Funds Will Go:
- Medical expenses including those not fully covered by insurance: treatments, co-pays, scans, medications, and more.
- Vehicle expenses to support the wear and tear on their vehicle due to the long-distance trips to appointments and treatment centers.
- General living expenses to help the family plan for uncertain future needs, whether related to recovery, unexpected costs, or simply creating space to focus on healing without added financial stress.

SCOTT IS STILL SCOTT
If you know Scott, you know the joy he brings. Whether he’s cracking a dry joke, listening intently, or engaging in one of his famously thoughtful conversations, his presence is a gift to those around him. He’s also a talented clarinetist and educator, an avid sailor, and a supportive dad.
This diagnosis has changed so much, but it hasn’t changed who he is.
