My name is Stuart Bush and I’ve started this GoFundMe for a friend and former colleague of mine Scott Jackson. Unfortunately, Scott is currently trying to clear his name against false accusations made by his previous partner of six years.

 

The allegations are particularly distressing to Scott and his son (who turns four next month) as Scott has been his primary care giver and they now have significantly limited access to one another.

 

When his son’s mother took a job interstate to further her career, against Scott’s better judgment he uprooted his entire life leaving behind all that was familiar to him, in order to maintain a relationship with his son. This has left him extremely isolated with no support network to fall back on.

 

Scott’s main priority through all of this is to his son and to the committed support and development that he consistently helps to foster in his child’s life. With COVID restrictions beginning to lift in NSW, Scott’s current temporary residence is set to become an Air BNB when his lease expires next month.

 

Now that he has to fund a court case with no current end in sight and his potential to work becoming unstable, I’m seeking to pass the hat around to help him through this stressful time. Scott hasn’t led any easy life, however what Scott has been through has shaped him to be the man he is today – a devoted father, a supportive caregiver, and a man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone.

 

I know this because when my own marriage broke down, Scott was the one I came to for counsel. His ability to listen, empathise and offer a different perspective at a particularly challenging time really helped me get through what I was going through myself.

 

I’m one of many people who have come to Scott over the years for whom he’s lent an ear, shelter, food or finance. Now, he needs our help.
