Help Scott Fight a Septic Staph Infection & Support His Family

Our dear friend Scott Kramer is fighting for his life after what started as a staph infection in his heart became septic, spreading throughout his body. Scott, husband to Sarah and dad to Evie and Coen, is a steady, behind-the-scenes helper to so many. It’s time for us to rally together to support him and the entire Kramer family.

The Medical Crisis: It turns out that Endocarditis, the medical term for the origin of his infection, can have ramifications well beyond the heart. Infarcts - little infection clusters, kind of like blood clots - have lodged in different parts of his body, each causing issues of their own. One traveled to his brain, causing a stroke that has caused permanent partial vision loss. Doctors are monitoring others in various parts of his body. Scott will require heart surgery to remove the infected tissue once doctors can reduce the bacterial load in his system. He remains hospitalized under intensive treatment, with a long recovery ahead.

The Financial Reality: As a general contractor, Scott is unable to run his business and has no income while hospitalized and facing months of recovery. He may need to change careers depending on the outcome of this incident. Sarah is taking time off from her job to manage the household, care for the kids, and spend every possible moment she can at the hospital with Scott. The medical bills are mounting rapidly, and the family is facing financial hardship just when they need to focus entirely on Scott’s recovery.

How You Can Help: Every contribution, no matter the size, will help cover:
  • Ongoing medical expenses and treatments
  • Lost income during his extended recovery
  • Family living expenses while he cannot work
  • Costs associated with adapting to his vision loss

Scott has always been there for others - often lending a hand with a home project, helping out a neighbor or friend, and bringing a smile to our faces with his quiet sense of humor (which he still manages to do, even while sick in the hospital). Now it's our turn to support him.

Please share this with your networks. Even if you can't contribute financially, sharing helps us reach people who might be able to help.

Thank you for your generosity and prayers. We'll provide updates on Scott’s progress as his condition improves.
