To my family and friends, I was diagnosed with leukemia 8 years ago and have been through multiple treatments over the years. I am at a point where additional treatment is needed. Starting in August, I will have a procedure called CAR-T cell therapy along with chemo, and finishing off with a bone marrow transplant.

The average cost of the CAR-T therapy can range from $800k to $1 million. Of course, I have insurance, but we all know how great that system can be. In addition, I will be out of work for 4-8 weeks. As the main form of income for my family, this is going to be a big impact.
