Help Scott & Barb Rebuild After Devastating House Fire

On Tuesday, August 6, 2025, Scott and Barb experienced an unimaginable tragedy when a fire tore through their home in Gridley, Illinois, leaving it severely damaged and uninhabitable. While some belongings may be restorable, much of their home and treasured possessions have been lost to smoke, fire, and water damage.

They are now facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives—without a place to stay, without clothes, daily necessities, and even access to essential medications. As anyone who has faced such a crisis knows, the needs come quickly and often unexpectedly.

Scott and Barb are the kind of people who would give you the shirts off their backs. Scott is a talented local musician who brings joy to so many with his music. Barb works at the local dentist’s office and gives back as a dedicated board member of the Project XV Museum in El Paso. They are deeply rooted in the community they love, and now, they need that community’s support more than ever.

Barb has told me many people have reached out and asked what they could do to help. She is really still in shock. She mentioned today that when Scott got out of the shower, he didn't even have a comb for his hair. It's the little things like this as they are in the beginning of even figuring out what comes next. The biggest help right now is a monetary donation. I too (Barb's Aunt) was at a loss for what I can do to help. We are asking for your help to get them back on their feet. Donations will go toward:
