MEET SCOTT:
Scott is an independent business owner.
On December 8th, a break in occurred at his business UNITED PERFORMANCE.. there was a fire and damage to the gym. This resulted in being closed for a few weeks.
During this time there was a loss of members, revenue and now an ongoing battle with the insurance company. Who delayed long enough that the landlord would no longer wait on the claim to finish. Due to the back rent still unpaid through the insurance.. the landlord without notice, changed the locks has now taken possession of the gym and all of the assets and equipment inside, and has once again CLOSED the business. Allowing no access to Scott or anyone else.
Scott took it upon himself to get the gym reopen back after December with thousands on
his own personal credit at the landlords request, and as well rallied some volunteers for the fire cleanup, he had also unfortunately had to lay off all his staff and from then until now has put in 106 hrs weekly 7 days a week. All the while waiting on the insurance, which to date has not settled and even took another $2500 in payments since the fire.
The gym being closed down once again is now a total loss of business, assets, revenue, and now what will be a long and arduous legal battle.
As an independent business owner this means an IMMEDIATE loss of income for the owner and NO QUALIFICATION for Employment assistance.
Scott will be seeking full time employment in the meantime to make ends meet, and continue to fight the good fight through the courts, but that can however be a matter of years. The risk of losing everything is high
Help us relieve some of the financial burden for any further problems, make a few ends meet, and fight the injustice here in the battle to come through the system.
Scott has been a long standing member in the fitness community and has supported and sponsored over 100 events over the past 10 years. He is asking for whatever you can to help him and his family get through what is certainly a very trying time.
Thank you everyone for your support!
