Help Scott and Roberta in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
My brother, Scott Luoma, recently underwent emergency surgery for a dissecting aortic aneurysm while in Baltimore, MD for work. On Tuesday evening, Nov. 19, right before he boarded the plane to head home to Greenville, MI, he began having chest pain and his left leg went numb. He immediately called his wife, Roberta, to cancel his flight and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital before being transferred to the University of Maryland Hospital for emergency heart surgery. Roberta immediately flew to Baltimore to be by his side. Scott came through the 10 1/2-hour surgery but was not responding to commands for six days afterward. He is now awake, responding to commands and is no longer on the ventilator. Scott is currently on dialysis to help his kidney function but awaits more tests and surgeries. They have no idea when they can both return to their home in Michigan or return to work. To help alleviate the stress and worry of the financial burden this has caused, I've created this GoFundMe page to help them out. Scott and Roberta have been married for 20 years and have two sons: Michael and Holden (Kendra) and two grandsons that Scott adores: Hank (3) and Waylon (4 months). If you are unable to donate monetarily, please keep my brother and his family in your prayers as he has a long road to recovery ahead.
