Help Scott and Kristine!
My name is Andrene and I am fundraising for my son Scott and his wife Kristine.
This is the kind of story that you never think could happen to you.
Scott went to work that day just like he does every other day, only to end up in the ER intubated and unresponsive. He is a driver for a large delivery company but was on a medical few days because of a back injury from a dog attack at work. Praise the Lord that he was in the work place and not on the road driving. It was around 3:30 that afternoon when he was on break that he had a seizure. An ambulance arrived about 7-8 mins later, the paramedics found him unresponsive and immediately transported him to the ER.
He spent four days in the ICU, and Kris and I spent as much time with him as we could.
The day from hell came when we got to Scotts room that afternoon and were met with a Dr and a Nurse. We were told and shown on a screen that Scott had a tumor on his brain that had caused the seizure. The tumor was caused by the Lung Cancer that Scott had, so Scott was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.
They gave him a PET/ CT Scan and he had a Liver biopsy done. They found some concerns with his spine, where they found four lesions.
This all happened three months ago and in that time Scott has had radiation treatment for the tumor and just the other day after a Scan they told him it had shrunk 50%. The prayers from you all are working! He has Chemo every three weeks that will continue through December. All of this is so overwhelming since my son was a healthy, energetic young man that morning when he left for work. He can't drive as he is on medication for the seizure and believe me if he could he would be back at work in a second. He applied for disability but for some reason that can't kick in for 5-6 months.
Kristine is working full time and takes off work to go to appointments with Scott. She does not get paid for time off. This too is hard as the bills still need to be paid. I have noticed that Scott is more stressed now than ever since his pay has stopped, we hope that it too will be resolved. Everything takes time.
Bless all of you who have prayed for Scott, keep them coming as I am sure that he will need a lot more in the days ahead. Any monetary donation will be greatly appreciated.
