Help Scott and Karen to recover from Covid

I am raising money to help our wonderful friends Scott and Karen as they try to recover from the covid 19 virus . They have not been able to work and have incurred many medical expenses and (bills continue to pile up ) as a result of this terrible illness . Karen is still very sick . Please help us to ease a little of the financial burden as they try to heal. This is a very difficult time for them and we can show them as much love and support as possible . I set the goal high , but anything you can give will help. Thank you all so much !

IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU.... But it is. I don’t understand why so many of my friends & family are living their best lives not wearing masks ALWAYS and staying 10’+ feet away from people not in their households. I’m so beyond anger & without comprehension at the lack of thought to the danger these daily decisions cause every human. I stayed home & didn’t do shit for over a year because I did NOT want Covid. I got Covid, an ambulance ride, a stay in the hospital for my 50th birthday, weeks of financially crushing lost wages for both of us & what will be untold medical bills. No, we didn’t even get to the long term fallout which is what I fear most. Can I tell you how terrifying it is to not know what’s going on & why you are getting X-rays, CT scans with contrast, blood thinner injections in your stomach, the fire of steroids being injected into you, what it is to only be able to sleep face down because you don’t want more lung damage, the fear of will you be one of the cases that goes very badly or that you’ll have a stroke? Because at 49, up to running 22miles, zero medical conditions, zero meds, 21% BMI.... why am I here? My crime was laughing with & holding my husband who is in healthcare. He brought Covid home from his clinic. We are not ok. This is not ok. This didn’t have to happen. While I was receiving care, I put the lives of every person I came near & their family in danger. My last nurse’s sister died from undiagnosed breast cancer because she couldn’t get treatment on time. She died of Covid at 42 w/ 4kids (youngest 3yrs old) 3wks ago. Her death certificate won’t say Covid even though from beginning to end, that’s what killed her. So, when you are running side by side with your group, heading out to gyms & theme parks, eating in restaurants at tables full of people outside of your household, attending live races which are a joke & not safe, are having play dates for your kids without masks, taking side by side pictures with friends… You did this. You are the problem. That is the hard truth you MUST know. This isn’t going away until every one of you adheres to distance & masks until enough people can be vaccinated assuming the strains don’t continue to mutate faster than vaccine pace. In short, be a Toughie, suck it up, & act not for your wants, but for what your country needs. Maybe seeing the fallout in me, someone I assume you love & care about will help to make it all less abstract. Please start to see yourself as the larger picture. What you do matters greatly. Love one another with your choices & actions. I can’t tell you how bad this is. It’s not going away quickly & I am beyond angry as I sacrificed while you played. I am covered in rash, having allergic reactions, need a chart to manage the medicine chest I must take. This should not have happened. To be clear, I don’t want your thoughts & prayers. I want you to choose better. If you are religious, think about how you are called upon to care for your neighbor with action. Finally, I tested negative 2 times with a load of symptoms including the hallmark no sense of smell. I didn’t test positive until 5-days later. If there is ANY chance you were exposed, despite your results, quarantine. Testing (rapid & long) will not show results that are correct without enough viral load in your system. That is all.

For you economists, count those apples & imagine how this is impacting my already crushed small business, my husband’s employer, & our ability to contribute by paying taxes. So, maybe wear 2 masks & stay away from people not in your household for the economy if that inspires you more.
