Update 3/4/25 - Great news! While this effort to support Scott and Glenda was originally shared with a group of old friends, new friends and neighbors at SunCity Peachtree have been wanting to help and this is now being shared! Special shout out to the Pickleball and Softball groups! What an amazing community!
Original message
2024 was a year of planning and anticipation as Scott and Glenda decided to move from Knoxville and to build a brand new home in Sun City Peachtree, a 55+ Del Webb community just South of Atlanta. This would allow them to be closer to one of their sons, Tyler, his wife, Cam and little Gwen, their 21 month old granddaughter.
The building process took much of the year but it was ready in late September. Thursday, February 13th started out as a day of celebration. It was time to share their new home! Glenda’s parents, Bill and Judy had arrived for their first visit. They enjoyed a quick drive around the neighborhood before dinner. Upon returning home, they were shocked to see a fire in the oven. Tragically the fire rapidly engulfed the entire house. One of the only things that survived was a closet of pictures. We all know Scott & Glenda to be kind, resilient people and as they begin the arduous task of rebuilding we want to let them know how much we love and support them.
Update 2/27/25 - Scott and Glenda have found a home to rent in the neighborhood!
